This Netherlands sourced TD5 will undergo an extensive Twisted Original build to be transformed into a stunning Welsh Grey soft top, in celebration of the iconic vehicle that has a place in all of our hearts, the Defender.

Our Master Technicians will dismantle the vehicle into its component parts and meticulously inspect every item. The chassis will be restored and protected while the body undergoes a complete panel-off restoration before being repainted in Welsh Grey paint. Painstakingly reassembled with particular detail given to panel alignment, it will be fitted with Series style ‘removable top’ doors and a fold-down windshield. A beautifully tailored black hood with roll up windows will be fitted over a black texture coated internal roll cage and the body will be sealed, soundproofed, sound-deadened, and internally finished in Welsh Grey texture coat for ease of cleaning.

The engine will be disassembled, thoroughly inspected, and completely rebuilt and the driveline upgraded with new driveshafts, half shafts, and differentials. Our Twisted developed intercooler, stainless steel exhaust, hybrid turbocharger, and engine remap are added taking the car from its original; 122hp to 210hp. Stopping power will not be forgotten, and our 6-piston front calipers and 4-piston rear calipers will be installed giving a massive upgrade over the standard Land Rover offerings. The original 5-cylinder TD5 engine provides the most wonderful and unmistakable soundtrack, enhanced by ‘top-down’ motoring.

To retain as much originality as possible, our trim shop will use the original seats including the four tip-up rears, fitted with new seat foams throughout and trimmed in Burgundy leather with our signature square quilt throughout. The footwells and load area will be finished with Welsh Grey texture coating and the final modern touch inside is a full audio upgrade including an appropriate single din head unit which includes satellite navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.

Finished in Welsh Grey paint, highlighted with Satin Black Twisted 18” Classic alloy wheels, externally the vehicle will include a subtle but extensive series of upgrades including LED headlights and tail lights, our Twisted designed double front bumper, and our stage one front end, inspired by the 1970’s Land Rover V8 which includes 8mm stainless steel mesh front, side, wing top, and horn grills finished in satin black paint as well as Series III headlamp surrounds painted in matching body color.

Riding on Twisted Progressive suspension and complemented by our performance upgrades and interior refinements, this will be the ultimate beach car.
