As well as being busy re-engineering the Defender and developing new products, Twisted has been also been building the business’s internal structures to better underpin its growth ambitions.
Founder Charles Fawcett has brought on board a business consultant, Beth Elsdon, who has been tasked with helping to define the role of operations director and what it entails.
Beth has already set about putting structures and policies in place to create a climate for the role before handing it over to a future candidate in a full-time capacity at a later stage.
Beth said: “My main objective is to look at the internal operations and make plans for strengthening the team and structure ahead of growth plans.
“I want to ensure the team are prepared for future growth in order to make the transition smooth and streamlined.
“It’s such an exciting time for the business and I feel the passion in the team is what will drive Twisted forward.
“We just need to throw in some controlled processes to ensure the business can continue to perform and continually develop, while maintaining high quality standards and delivering the best possible customer experience.”
Joining Beth are four further full-time recruits.
Chris Johnson has been appointed as the new floor operations director, to co-ordinate all processes within the workshop.
Chris said: “This is an extremely exciting company to be working for and I love that we can offer our customers an experience they will never forget.
“Our facilities are fantastic, The LR Coach-works set-up looks incredible and it’s going to help us long-term with customer lead times and continued improvement on product quality.”
Experienced spray technicians, Paul Thomson, Eddie Doyle and David Douglas have been recruited from the original manufacturer as part of the business’s new, dedicated LR (Land Rover) Coach-works team.
Paul said: “I was so excited to get started and it really feels like the team have hit the ground running. Twisted is at the next level for upgrading Defender and the company does some truly amazing work.
Eddie said: “This is a really exciting move for me and I already feel at home working here. I’m over the moon to be joining the Twisted family and look forward to putting my 30 years of experience in vehicle paint-work into practice”
David said: “I am really loving life at Twisted so far and can’t wait to play my own part in helping the business continue to grow.”
Reflecting on the appointments, Twisted Automotive managing director, Charles Fawcett, said: “As my role becomes more strategic and less ‘hands-on’, it’s become clear that there is an opportunity to bring on board an operations manager to bridge that gap, and we’ve brought Beth on board to pave the way for that to happen.
“It’s an exciting time for Twisted and I look forward to seeing what these future new recruits will bring to the business. As any business owner will know, things never stand still and need you need to grow and evolve – and that includes your own role – if you want to move onto the next chapter.
“Our next step is to grow the finance department with the appointment of a financial director or management accountant – or both – to oversee the current team, handle day-to-day accounting with more strategic financial planning.
