In 1961, Land Rover released the Series IIA, with a number of subtle design alterations over the outgoing Series II.
58 years later on January 29th 2019, to celebrate three years since the end of Defender production at the Solihull plant, we announced our release of ten JLR delivery mileage 110s to be built as our modern interpretations of the Series IIA.
These will be the first vehicles to display the new Twisted 18” Rostyle wheel and the newly designed body accents highlighting original changes to the early 60’s bodywork. This vehicle is intended to be a true workhorse and is based entirely on the 110 derivatives from the last months of production and all UK registered ‘post production end’ in April & May of 2016. No doubt some will end up in private collections too. As you would expect we have considerately addressed the usual areas of improvement over the standard unit including; power, handling, steering, sealing and rust protection, to make this special build Defender the driving experience it deserves.
The introduction of the Classic Twisted Series II is a celebration to mark the end of Defender production. After high demand for the Classic Series I, Twisted have made changes to mirror movements of the original manufacturer when production of the first Series II began in 1958. Taking inspiration, Twisted are celebrating this milestone by presenting a subtle nod to its predecessor. Series II was built throughout 2018 and further specification is available through our additional upgrades process. Two builds remain.
We have put together a carefully considered spec for this custom build which will sit as our demonstrator for 2019. New features such as second row air con, and our newly designed centre console are being fitted to this build. A LS3 Corvette engine and progressive suspension complete the highly upgraded drivability of this 2015 final year model 90. Images will come very soon as it’s due to complete in our workshop in July.
This vehicle is used for demonstration and test drive so the mileage on the vehicle may vary from the advert.

A very rare LHD is built and available here in Yorkshire. With very low mileage, this Fuji White 110 is powered by a GM LS3 V8 petrol engine, boasting a 6-speed auto box, this really is an incredibly high spec’d Twisted build. Available for export outside of the EU only, we have added a roof rack & ladder, a 50″ Laser light bar and our new Rostyle wheel to ensure this 110 remains in keeping with its original purpose. Inside, four Recaro seats sit aside the Automatic console as the whole interior has been trimmed in Black Nappa leather with perforated centres. Gloss black seat backs and LED downlighting give this build that extra pleasure when sat within.
Please read on to discover an extensive list of the vehicle’s features.
One way to own a Twisted without the lead time of a new build would be this fresh into stock 2015 90 station wagon. Boasting an LS3 V8 under the bonnet powering 430bhp through the drive train. This Corris Grey example has only 15,500 miles on the clock. We have made the conversion from manual to a 6-speed automatic. This particular example boasts inward facing seats in the rear to make it a very usable 6 seater. From uprated front & rear brakes and our very own progressive suspension, to a fully trimmed comfort interior this pre owned Twisted has it all.
